TWENTY NEW NAMES FOR JERA ON AIR 2019
Within little over a week we are celebrating Sinterklaas, but Jera On Air is already giving out gifts. The biggest outdoor punk and hardcore festival in the Netherlands, taking place from the 27th until the 29th of June in Ysselsteyn, is announcing twenty new bands today. Last week we already felt your enthusiasm when we announced Heideroosjes will be playing their reunion show at Jera On Air. This feeling will only increase as we can tell you that Hatebreed, Converge, The Interrupters, The Amity Affliction, Our Last Night, Terror, Ignite, Turnstile, Whitechapel, The Fever 333, State Champs, Crystal Lake, Bleeding Through, Hundredth, Harms Way, Mute, For I Am King, As It Is, Such Gold and Cane Hill will be taking stage this coming edition. Jera on Air ticket sales (combination tickets) has already started on www.jeraonair.nl.
The American metalcore band Hatebreed has been around since 1994, and with their latest album The Concrete Confessional (2016) they have proven to be just as on point as when they first started. The forerunners of the metallic hardcore scene bring so much energy to their live performances it looks like a sporting event. Already five years ago lead singer Jamey Jasta closed the Jera On Air festival with the words: “Thank you for being so f*cking great”. Words that, without a doubt, can easily be repeated this coming June.
Also Converge has already earned their stripes long ago. With a mix of hardcore punk and different genres of metal, the Americans have been constantly renewing the scene. This has led to hundreds of performances and eleven successful albums.
The Interrupters are one of the best ska-punk bands of the moment within their genre. In no time and without exception, their latest videos on YouTube reach over a million views. This shows that the band around lead vocalist Aimee Allen is hitting the right cords. It is no option to stand still when The Interrupters start playing. Their latest album Fight The Good Fight was exceptionally well received by critics this year.
During Jera On Air 2015 The Amity Affliction was one of the biggest surprises of the festival. While we shouldn’t talk about surprises, considering the huge line of people queuing for the band’s hour-long signing session. Australian metalcore with a twist of pop, probably best describes the band around Ahren Stringer. It is a show you simply cannot miss at the Ysselsteyn festival grounds.
Next to Hatebreed, Converge, The Interrupters and The Amity Affliction also Our Last Night, Terror, Ignite, Turnstile, Whitechapel, The Fever 333, State Champs, Crystal Lake, Bleeding Through, Hundredth, Harms Way, Mute, For I Am King, As It Is, Such Gold and Cane Hill will be playing at one of Jera On Air 2019’s stages.
