The music of Jaya the Cat is a mix of reggae, ska, punk, rock, and whatever other genre they feel like throwing into the blender. Their original sound is often described as “drunk reggae punk.” So having a beer in hand definitely isn’t out of place at a Jaya the Cat show. During their set in 2024, the band’s bartender handed out shots to the crowd — straight from the bottle. The show was a huge party, and by the end, a big part of the audience had climbed onto the stage to dance.
