The Dreadnoughts

Canadian band The Dreadnoughts started playing folk punk in 2007 with one goal: to earn enough money at shows to pay for shots of Fireball whiskey at Vancouver’s seedy Ivanhoe Hotel. Since then, they’ve been tearing up stages and swilling cider around the world. These multi-instrumentalists dig deep into folk history to uncover the raw power of waltzes, klezmer dance and other traditional European music. They mix it with the speed of street punk and no, this is no cheap gimmick. Their discography of eight albums proves it, with their latest album “Polka Pit” from 2025. Expect folk instruments, fast beats and an audience that jumps, dances and moshes. You’ll find your place in the crowd. Jera On Air 2027 is ready for a new kind of pit. Grab a cider and join the polka!
